It's All Greek to Me!

After some serious hard yakka when we returned from the Caribbean the boat was ship shape (no pun intended) and ready for the Mr and Mrs to turn up.  We said goodbye to Didim (Turkey) almost waving enthusiastically - next destination, Crete.  There is something about being back at sea that puts everything at ease and knowing we were headed for a new destination added to the good feeling.

We arrived at Agios Nikolaos marina which (at the moment) is a somewhat sleepy village with pretty cobbled little streets, a picturess lake at it's centre and one of the best ice cream pallors I've ever come across.  Once the owners had left we rented a car and went exploring for a couple of days.  So far I love this place... it's early summer so it's hot enough to swim but the water is actually refreshing, it is rich in history, the food is awesome and the people are very approachable and friendly.  Here's a look so far...

A Little of This and a Litte of That

Wow - the last few months feels like a whirlwind of sunshine, lollipops and rainbows.  We have be on some awesome adventures made some amazing memories and I for one feel like a pretty lucky lady.  This most recent trip home was one of the most relaxed yet - so many good times and gatherings of my favourite people where all I was required to do was turn up!  Awesome!  It started in the beautiful Ngunguru which couldn't have been better.  Here are some of the highlights...

Some fun with the grommies - it seems my sunnies were popular among the young'ns!

Who are these stylish ladies!  Actually the most fun I've had in a two dollar shop for a long time!  Shot Summa!

As always, Whangamata showed us some great weather, awesome waves, quality time at the bach and easter eggs galore.  It doesn't get much better!

As always, there was an epic journey into the wild.  This time around we ventured to the Waitangi Falls.  I can honestly say I have never seen waterfalls like that in my life.  A pretty hard to reach place but well worth the slog.

A little less wildness but still out in the wops... we had one of our favourite people take us on a tour of Hobbiton.  Wicked Nagas!

So many good times had at home - some of the best I spent without my camera in tow.  Every now and then it's nice to see the view without a lense in the way!  This time around the blow of leaving was softened a little knowing that we had a trip to the caribbean to see friends before taking part in Antigua Race week.... so the good times rolled!  Next stop Tortola, British Virgin Islands, to see our great friends Claud and Reg in their new Restaurant - nothing but good times with these two.

Sad to leave after such a short time but Antigua Race Week was calling us - I'm suppose to be part of the crew for a week of racing and the closest I've been to a sail boat is a 12ft laser!  Goodluck!

The next thing you know I've learnt to pack a spinnaker - and pretty quick too!  But alas the holidays must come to an end and the the boat and work are calling.  Time to get stuck in.  Until next time - thank you to everyone who made our holiday so special by being part of it.  Love you all.
